Ice Cube has just inked a deal with HBO to develop and produce a TV series about the hip-hop music industry called "Be Careful What You Wish For". Cube may also direct the show's pilot, and while he won't star in the series, he may take a small recurring role. |

Lil' Zane is scheduled to make his acting debut in the Columbia Pictures Film, "Finding Forrester". The film is tentatively scheduled to be released in December 2000. The film will also feature Sean Connery, F. Murray Abraham and Busta Rhymes. The film's plot is based on an African-American athlete studying at an all-white prep school who has dreams of becoming a writer and the relationship he shares with his mentor. Sean Connery will play the reclusive author. Lil' Zane will play the best friend of the African-American student. |

Edwin McPherson, an entertainment attorney has filed a lawsuit against rap group, Wu-Tang Clan. The suit was filed on behalf of McPherson's law firm, McPherson & Kalmansohn. It seeks $35,000 in attorney's fees and punitive damages for breach of contract and fraud. The suit claims that the group didn't pay its $35,000 bill. McPherson claims the Wu called on him in February 1999 to defend them in a lawsuit. Several group members were accused of assaulting, verbally abusing and defaming a woman who appeared in one of their videos. McPherson claims the woman sued for $500,000 but he settled the case for $15,000 and was never paid. |
