Upon checking this album
out, it was clear that Kirby Dominant and King Koncepts,
members of the House of Kemetic Suns, will not be harassing
us with anything weak. The first line that Kirby spits
on "Self-Titled"
goes "Kirby Dominant deserves a standing ovation" has
us snicker a little, but only playing the record through
once, you'll agree, getting your butts up in appreciation
for Konceptual Dominance's music.

|
Maybe the beat of "Self-Titled"
will not yet completely have you sing this tune in unison.
It's holding back a little, has us look awry at the
westcoast thump. But with the lyrics being welcoming,
it's no too rocky road to get to "Do
The Knowledge". This beat works the atmospheres
to the best, with a breaking piano the producers hooked
up. And they are on this, as on many other tracks Koncepts
Unlimited, consisting of King Concepts, Tariq Olokum
and Ras Nachum. What some people, mostly those that
are ignorant, would call preachy, the lyrics should
much rather be called a chance of viewing the world
through the eyes of these two Bay Area cats. They take
us by the hand and show us through their life and paths
of travel and thought. That makes us understand if not
also totally agree.

Moving a few years back
in time, and shaking hands with what not yet dead legends
like to do, Konceptual Dominance produced the beat themselves
on "Black Anger",
that topic wise refuses to babble, as reasons are exposed
for anger and this is a lyrical million revolutionists
march, with only raised fists and confidence coming
from all participants. Giving you the chance to collect
dispersed brain cells, the "427's
Interlude No. 1" is the overpowered refrigerator
break, working as a piss break too, leaking poisonous
elements, getting rid off them, preventing self intoxication.
And this album will find ways to fill the gabs that
the clearance left empty, as "Savage
Intelligence (Original Mix)" once more seems
to be foreign to gibberish. A dope piano sound adds
an echo chamber while Kirby and King plead guilty in
religious matters, play around Pandora's Box, digging
holes in all three dimensions to find probable hidden
treasures.

|
Slowing things down,
getting smoothly moody with "New
Growth (Koncepts Of Dominance)", they stand
accused but confidently and innocently retort. This
could have been having heads open through the golden
years and does not edutain less today. The confidence
changes into arrogance where you will be called wack
and they themselves call each other's efforts perfect.
And while you'll be fiending for reasons to disagree,
it will be hard for you to find much to criticize about
"Flawless Execution".
The bragging punch enough and the beat is simple enough
for the elementary needs. "Vivid"
allows itself to build slowly, then again in the back
there's already a lot of talking going on. There's a
certain relieve with coming to terms with whatever,
it being however horrible. That's how this unfolds and
what it makes clear, it being the newfound hope within
acceptance. Then again, a true revolutionist will never
come to terms with anything that's not exactly as he
sees needed. And so that light can't be held back and
shines through, with thick opacity.

After being hit with
a whole lot more to contemplate, the "427's
Interlude No. 2" is the rest deserved, before
another magical orchestrated cut called "Time
Flows Constantly" guides us through similar
waters that are cold and warm enough to be finitely
refreshing. Whilst a wind and not a motor is pushing
us forward, this traditional way of travel still gets
us to our destination, here it being the KAditronBA
featuring "Rock The Disco".
This has nothing to do with 80s pop samples. But "Memories"
does have all to do with a love saturated manifest of
believes and remembered safe havens. The mentioning
of 1999 in the rhyme exposes this as old. However, the
relevance of topics hasn't changed and the style can't
be called contemporary for it's own good.

Getting another chance
to digest "Savage Intelligence",
this remix is taking us to two more picked up tracks,
one being the "Vivid Reprise",
it remaining instrumental, the other being "Memories
(OG Mix)", that rediscovers the track, with
giving it a different, while not equally unquestioned
appeal. And so we have gone through 15 tracks that are
taking the braggadocios to a different step, that returns
to help spirituality and consciousness make the steep
climb in today's times. We turn back to meaning and
a sit down with a person we are interested in what she
/ he has to say. The album does not fall short in catering
to those appreciations.
