The mainstream media at times refers to Kool Savas as the German Eminem. He's however more the German Chino XL, as he built a career on dissing fellow and better known rappers. With the level of fame now turning in Savas' favor though, because while he has two videos played on the Music Channels, the established artists are very, very quiet. Also because just like Chino, Kool is actually good. Or he's good now, as some of his older material was very weak. And so the stereotypes against him are strong, but when you listen to this album a couple of times, you can view this cat turn from gray to white and get more powerful in the process.
Therefore his singles "Till' Ab Joe" and "Optik Anthem" get better the more you hear 'em. With the first one being even better than the second. Here he hands out bitch slaps and puts his disses and braggadocios in one of the best flows of German hip hop. What the Optik folks known, and thus they turn their focus on their flows on "Optik Anthem". That gets overdone with Eko also spending a lot of time to comment on something we can hear ourselves. Nevertheless, he also gets a couple of good lines out, taking a little bit away from the probability that Optik stands and falls with Savas.

This obvious choice of guest (i.e. the crew) is added on with an interesting selection of big name US artists that drop by to spit. So we can hear Royce Da 5'9" and Tre Little on "Don't Hate". Like every other track on this album, Melbeatz (with Mel standing for Melanie and not Melvin) carries the background, while Royce sounds better on this cut than on much of his own album. A couple of tracks down the line, Souls Of Mischief's A-Plus is doing a "Transatlantic" connection, with the thoughts being more on braggadocios chapters, than on reaching out over seas and building on that. And third, Kurupt steps up to do "Keep It Gangsta", and he does some flossing and growling, while Savas does some name dropping rhyming, pacing through names and titles of gangsta rap moments.
And as good as these three collaborations are, there's still the language barrier, making the two barely connect. That's why these cuts are not especially the highlights on the album. Those are more towards the two singles, as well as the not holding back "Intro", the chopped bounce of "Gib Auf" and the track where Savas finally strays away from battling: "Der Beste Tag Meines Lebens". This inspired cut will reach a lot of people with its positivity, despite the purchasers of this record usually not being into this type of reflective verses.
But here you also realize how one dimensional the lyrical content of the record really is. But even though Savas is not as good as Chino XL, he's good at what he aimed to do. And his punchlines are as much funny, as they are true, hurting and as they are entertaining. That's why Kool will still be hated, he will still be dissed. But with the impact he currently has, there's no reason why he should loose any sleep over that.
