If you got that "8 Mile" DVD with the extra features, you saw Super MC battle. And he's on "Session 2" (more on that later). But when you listen to "You A Bitch", it could have been Picket Fence that was stepping up. Cause this track is fierce, with the Fence letting all his anger out, dissing, spitting braggadocios lines, and just coming hard. But he's not even a battle emcee, so he states in the song. Nevertheless, this is on some serious take no prisoners type vibe. And just by the mere pressure behind his voice, you start to second guess if you should enter the stage to face him.
The same push is still behind Fence's flow when he starts to rap "Mood 4 Love". What here doesn't make much sense though, as he's screaming, not romancing. And that's the actual intend of the song. It gets even less romantic when he starts to talk about the booty, the breasts, the, wow, clitoris. And it gets nastier as the track goes along, while we can't help but to grin a couple of times, cause with the good Reverend hook, this is all a little twisted, but none the less or especially because of that entertaining.
So we are already two tracks into this nine cuts offering, so it might be the right moment to take a one minute break. So: We're listening to Picket Fence, a Cosmic Souls affiliate. Any other information? Not really. Even though it would be especially interesting, cause Fence somehow got Obie Trice on a song. That song is simply called "Session 1", which also features Mempily. Obie's just flowing, what the other two then also do, while the beat is kicking some spacey sounds. Again the rappers come correct, not spitting the most incredible lyrics on the planet (especially Mempily comes kinda basic), but they still know how to destroy a track. This is however only one of two, while on "Session 2" the previously mentioned Super MC steps up, along with Proof of D-12 and Marv1. The beat gets even more dramatic and gritty, what the rappers meet with some violent and demented rhetoric, hence they are offering little of poetic relaxation.
What definitely does not seem to be the intention of this record anyway, because the badly mixed "Kick 'Em Out" (with Stephano and Outcold) talks about how the fellers kick the women to the curb, "I'm The Pimp" does a whole lot of more bragging and boasting (as well as it appears to be an alternate version of "You A Bitch" in many ways), while on "Freestyle" Fence shows and proves that he can come up with all this weird ish off the top. Finally "You And My Fam" is spit over a strangely Bay Area's Trunk Funk beat, with the rhyming containing a lot of listing words. And content wise, this returns to "Mood 4 Love".
It's however on "Backdoor Bonus" to wrap this EP up. These appreciated reflective lyrics show a different side, to the otherwise very testosterone record. Nevertheless, with real gut hunger, the guests to attract the suburban newbie, and with the lyrics to knock you with a left hook, the competition will go down. Sure, we're not loudly cheering, but we're still watching.
