The title of the interview
was 'rather rhyme than talk'. In true 'insert weird
sentence here', we are going to say: so let's talk about
his rhymes then. By now you better have checked his
mp3.com site (click here),
cause there are some trusty treats waiting for you,
waiting that you direct your mouse cursor to the download
or listen link, so that you ears can be the medium to
some sound provided journey through rhymes and beats.
Or something like that. Or to put it into less eloquent
words: get you ass over to the site, listen to them
cuts, cause shit is dope.

Things start off with
"Clever Endeavor"
feat. fellow mp3.com'ers Tru Prophitz, this is some
sophisticated braggadocios type something and you get
the first piece of Regular Size Monster's rapid fire
flow, when he goes "you've got a fundamental / fucked
up mental / like a gun up to your temple / sayin, "that
fucking Gentle cracker / rapping at a rapid tempo."
/ gassing / laughing / at my kinfolk / but I'll throw
13 stalactites / through your satellites / don't think
of grabbing mic's / my rap appetite will paralyze you
/ like a stag in lights / if you ain't acting right
/ I'll take you out / just for bragging rights". And
he spits that over a humble piano that's like a lunatic,
that's just a little too calm, cause you know he's the
jumping around in your face kinda guy. With a content
and tame guitar, "Monster Mash"
is still not protecting us from his venom, him going
"don't get lost in my flow, / although I know its intricate
/ when I'm flipping script / without instruments. /
Leave idiots / in a predicament / of of feeling ignorant
/ plus chicken shit / when I be rippin shit / omnipotent
/ magnificent / no one can mimic it / unlimited / innovative
/ uninhibited / super future-primitive / Plus I'm clever
at / any endeavor / whatever / better than that feller
/ pulling levers / just to get / hella yellow cheddar
/ My style's Freebird / like Lynard Skynard / with food
for thought / Hungryman dinners / to educate these simple
sinners". And when the drums gets a little extra nasty
at the end of this part, and when the choir shows up
at the end of this cut, it will be the final straw that
is breaking your doubting back. And we are only listening
to the second cut, there's more to come.

The Monster has woken
up, and you can hear it on "Gentle".
Over a bubbling track, with a little voice sample, the
Monster goes "see y'all don't know one iota / about
how I fulfill my quota / all that cash your trying to
hold, man, / you're just a sofa soldier / I'm more like
a soul controller / sold my soul so I could flow / Allah
holds the promise note / told me not to fool no folks
/ with any rhymes that I ever wrote / and all I ask
would be given". This cut is also a good example of
how Jones can use his voice, going through different
tones to create a meaning, evident during the "snuck
into your house caught you wearing / earrings and a
dress / possessed by some perversity begging to be sodomized
/ So I soundlessly excavate your skull cavity / leave
you lobotomized / the coward cries, tries to apologize
but dies, DIES!".

Teaming up with CAP
on "Hick Hop", this
is spit to a bluesy background and a very shuffling
and shacking drum. Quite rightful one of the most favorite
cuts during shows. Another one of the many, thousands,
millions of alias's is being put in front of the investigating
light on "Pinky The Kid",
that will have some of you go 'guitars? I'm not gonna
fuck with that'. But after a while, the track gets a
little wah wah thing going, which gives it a completely
different structure than what you expected at first,
and with a little industrial break, and Jones finally
taking the mic over a menacing beat background, this
track has already built so much intensity, it will have
you bang your head against the wall.

|
But in order to prevent
a headache, things are smoothed out with the highly
fresh "Peer Pressure".
A live instrumented improvised little organ intro takes
us up to some higher spheres, it being the elevator.
The lyrics are jumping through different topics, and
the Monster doesn't hesitate to boast "my lyrics are
literature". More of that literature can be heard on
"The Firecracker",
but the watchful eye has already noticed the name "Anthem
Of The Champions" pop up on the track listing.
DJ Qwerk hooked up an extra dope, space travelling track,
with very stumbling drums, and Orion cluster organs,
that just seem to be the perfect soundscapes for Jones
to go "your unlawful lawlessness can't abolish my flawlessness,
/ say my arguments / before the parliament, / an unbiased
bipartisan. "Let's immigrate and become Martian men,
/ and colonize / while Sodom dies / before the sodomites
start again" and in case you ever wondered "some ask
why they call me GENTLE, / it's simple / its like when
you call a fat guy slim / or a tall guy shorty". And
after such a banger, it's very hard for anything to
prevent us from just skipping back, to listen to that
track again. "Back And Forth"
is succeeding though with very intriguing horns, while
CAP shows up again, to lend his voice and rhymes to
this track.

And that's what "@ is
for @narchy" is. But enough talk now. You can buy this
record at the Monsters site, and it's about time, cause
we know, you rather listen than read.
