Aal Nanning Chicagos
most illustrious emcees (also Juice is featured
on it!) laced by 13 DJs. Get it if you havent
yet, they sound like a mix between CoFlow and Organized
Konfusion, but their style is innovative like hell. |
KromeleoN This is the
worst album ever. |
WHiRLWiND Worst ever?
Probably not. Once again you have an innovative group
here, but theyre CRAP! Note: Being original doesnt
make it dope. |
|
Buttafly
When I have listened, I get about halfway through it
before I think hmmm...Id rather be listening to
almost anything else right now. I respect the original
sound I am always looking for that but
as hard as Ive tried, I cant get into this
one.
|
tadah the byk Rubberroom
is a dope album. For real, it is. If people know early
90s British hip hop like Silvah Bullet, Blade, HiJack,
Gunshot and all of them, you will be able to understand
this album differently (better?). Its in this tradition
of GRITTY beats. And if you ask me, hip hop is in need
of GRITTY beats, because two of the grittiest: Boot Camp
Clik and Wu-Tang Clan have opted for a more polished,
a more mastered, a more cleaned up sound. And where does
this leave the people who liked the gutter? Out in the
cold. |
Hip hop used to be made with weak, wack,
old equipment. And the artists where making the best out
of their inferior situation. With the money came the better
equipment, with all those fancy equalizers, filters and
all of that. Now everything seems so cleaned up. It seems
like people dont want to sound low budget no more,
since if they cant brag about Lex and Rolex, then
they at least want those shiny beats. I say hell no. |
|
You cant even
argue, that the emcees on Rubberroom are wack.
You cant even say that the beats are not different
and original. And you cant even say that you weren't
way open, the first time you heard that thunderous sound
at the beginning of "Born".
No the album does not have the best lyrics, it does
not have the best beats, but it just sounds really dope.
|
|
WHiRLWiND
tadah..."Born"
was nice, but everything else is wack. Yeah, they are
innovative, no argument there, but I aint feelin
it.
|
Wuroots I think their
beats lack soul. They sound like a bunch of drums and
organs slapped together by a bunch of "Star Track"
kids, trying to make "cool" sounds, sounding
like the special effects of their favorite show. Sounds
out of this world, but a little out of hip hop. |

Rubberroom was the best joint Ive heard in a long
time...How can you diss "Acid",
"Stylewars",
"Trial Of A Vampire".
The production was tight as hell. The problem is half
of you cats are still wet behind the ears to appreciate
Rubberroms sound and message.
|
KromeleoN Dont
try "the emperors new clothes" on us! You know...they
tricked the emperor into buying make believe by telling
him only the best people saw the clothes. The same applies
here. This album is a piece of crap. End of story. |
WHiRLWiND Krome...you
hit the nail on the head. |
tadah the byk Aight,
I seem to be the only one, really liking that album. Actually
Im not, since around here, it sells decent numbers
(compared to other "independent" material).
Its cool, I will not force feed you this album.
Rubberroom is different, what, yes, does not make it better.
But this difference to the other records I appreciate,
because I enjoy the vibe. |
Myth Killer Do you guys
really understand that album? The theme to it? |
Babbler This album is
absolutely amazing. But I dont think you guys understand
this ish. At first the beats gave me a headache (like
anything new does) but then I started listening to it
and let the crashing music take me in.. Thats when
the beats become magnificent and consuming and they take
you into the deep realm of Lumbo and Meta Mo who are trapped
in the trenches of goods battle with evil. Its
right vs. wrong on the battle field of monumentious futuristic
beats...dont listen to it with the rational/ judgmental
parts of your brains and its be a lot better. |
Myth Killer I swear
me and you share the same brain Babbler. Peace. Good looking
out. |
Aal Nanning Heads dissing
this shit, for real? Did I miss something?
Anyway, word up to those who actually love this shit too,
this is way beyond comprehension for the average head.
We know. |
tadah the byk right,
right, right. I thought I was the only one supporting
them, thanks for the help guys. I mean, I listened to
it, over and over again, trying to find out why the others
dont like it. And you know what? I still cant
understand why they dont. Its a dope album. |
Expansion Rubberroom
sounds dope the first time you hear it. Whats all
this drum and bass about though? To tell you the truth,
this shit starts to sound depressing after awhile..... |
MadGifted I gotta peep
this album. Cuz people either love it or hate it. There
aint no in between here. |
