GoodVibe have been quite
busy lately, releasing Spontaneous, Declaime and also
Tee Double. On his own EP, this fella, blesses the world
with his somewhat organic music, combined with carefully
crafted lyrics. So does this platter start with a pan
flute enhanced, guitar touched "What
The Want?!?", on which Tee not only shows
his braggadocios skills, his flow, but also asks what
happened to the emcees that were of the same spirit
as he is. Some of the possible candidates to be considered
that kind of emcee, are mentions, when he breaks down
the roaster of the GoodVibe label on "Tried
& Tested". And not only Panda-One of The
Animal Pharm shows up, DJ DJ Drez, the inhouse GoodVibe
DJ lends his scratching technique to this track. And
the song succeeds where the previous failed: combining
a boom bap bouncyness with live sounding instrumentation.

"Blazin'"
lowers the vibe with a moody, almost dark track, that
is, just like all the others produced by Tee himself.
Again showing his skills with letting other people know
of his dopeness content, this Texas resident did even
alter his voice to have them complement the track. And
then horns chime through the speakers, with a sparkling
piano in the back on "I Remember".
The 'back in the day / spiritual' track of this album,
has us follow his train of thought, while we get a certain
sun setting flavor in musical form.

The dopeness continues
on the few seconds long sneak preview of "Move
In Silence" and then shifts on "Mixtape
Material". While this will be passed on by
DJ Clue, or Master Tee, a DJ Muet or Fakts One could
actually be thinking about putting this on one of their
tapestry products, so to say. But then again, that's
like too much hoping for some exposure on tapes, when
the whole title centers around it. Then again, the lyrical
content is rather deep. However, with the last song,
the title track "Lost Scriptures",
the organ takes us back to the boom bap, and we happily
nod our head, to more braggin' rhymes and a mid-90s
resembling production. Definitely a nice track to end
this offering.

GoodVibe has been putting
in work for some time now. Releases like the Anonymous
or Animal Pharm have always been quickly bought up by
people that like their hip hop musical, creative and
a little more intelligent than what the next cat is
doing. And with more releases coming up, that are stuck
with the 'coming soon' status for too long, namely Bahamadia,
Medusa, Statik, the Divine Styler Magazine compilation
or Jizzm. Tee Double might be just one fish in a pond
of many, with them all being unique Koi though, they
all attract and get the same deserved attention.
