Babbletron give us three singles of their only eleven tracks deep album on the Embedded imprint. That is called "Mechanical Royalty". The first song on here is "SpecialFX". And if you're familiar with some of their music, or if you're reading this after playing the album (reviewed here), you know that the 'tron has an interesting and rare completeness in expressing their views with reflection, good feet on the ground and accompanied by dry beats, that only further the real, while organic like stone, feel. That's certainly the content of "SpecialFX", but also "I Need To Be", where the sarcasm is expressed loudly, while the beat stays content with a lot of empty space, and a strong bass, among a whole lot of nothing else.

Finally, the last track "Broke Down" is quicker, more complex, but with the loop, still simple. A simplicity that's humble and driven. It however adds more intensity what makes you get the impression that jaymanila and Calm-Pete really rush to get their message out. With the lyrics not sounding rushed though, but carefully written. So in total, this record definitely lacks in glamour and glitz, but comes complete with an honest approach and quality.
