| Libretto is one sixth of the Misfit Massive
Crew, which includes Sly Da Brown Hornet, Dub-flex, Jumbo, Vursatyl,
and Razor Shines. With the last three also being known as Quannum
artists the Lifesavas. That group is gaining a lot of attention
lately, so it's only right that Libretto steps to the front
to do some light grabbing himself. So through the One Drop label,
the man adds rhymes to two fellow Misfit Jumbo produces songs,
with the first being: "Dirty Thangs".
This is one of those offerings that get your neck going, while
the background music is different in all its traditional ways.
The guitar adds funk, while the quirky voice sample adds abstraction.
Lyrically Libretto passes through many topics of his expertise,
while the struggle being the thread that holds everything together. |

| On the flip, the funk gets thicker.
Actually add a 'p' in front of the funk, because
"Alma Mater"
is equally Troutman as it is Clinton. Libretto speaks
on his LA place of ex-residence, being much the
street reporter you didn't expect him to be after
the first side. But as a man from Watts (now displaced
in Portland), he knows the smells of hot tar in
the hot city sections. In vibe this fits what we
are experienced to get from this type of area, with
the nod of better song only going to the first song,
because it's a little more standing out. What is
not taking away much from the latter, but paves
the way for the conclusion that Libretto is very
two facetted, with these two songs sounding very
different, and good in their own right. |
