It's even the more remarkable when a thoroughly underground cat garners enough attention, to cause a stir and an impatient demand for more. Offwhyte, this Chicago Galapagos4 records artist, is one of the few, who made enough impact with his "Squints" project, to have people fiend for information on his upcoming projects, as well as enough thirst to jump a pre-album 12". And that 12" is out now, giving us a mere three tracks, that however will be exactly what Offwhytes fans awaited more impatiently than a teenager awaits his first time.

The two tracks are both lifted from the upcoming "The Fifth Sun" record, with "High Fidelity" operating as the a-side single. This Meaty Ogre produced song is allowing the track to be as much a demagogic cult speech, as it is an extrovert prayer. On the mic, Off' still sound very earthling, as he's obeying the school of rambling clever things no one ever though of before. But to the uninitiated listener, he can easily sound like the doctor that explains your medical condition in his technical terminology not considering your lower level of knowledge, plainly leaving you not knowing much more. This school then draws a connection with a certain now defuct trio, that flowed in company, and that was a strong inspiration for songs like "Text", where Metrognome is replicating the vibe. That then, in combination with the flow and delivery, as well as the harsh quickness, plus crushes the fun. Psiv.abs, the featured guest on here, is more a twin of Offwhyte, than he is even a brother from the same motherboard. The third track "Compliments & Novelties" gives us Offwhyte at his most rolling, over a nice and equally rolling piano. What makes this a strong contender for the most played song off this 12". With everything then adding up to Offwhyte still being spacey, and definitely leaving many unworthy and uninitiated cats wondering, but nevertheless equally convinced.
