Hip hop can be fun. It can get you grooving, feel good and be the cold washcloth in the face of that careless emcee that steps in the way of a true master. It can get your neck going with some new old breakbeats and it can get your brain going with some clever wordplay. It can be mental origami. Or psyche origami. Or Psyche Origami, a two and a half-some (the half being the sometimes mentioned DJ Dainja, and the two being MC Wyzsztyk and DJ Synthesis) from the beautiful city they call Atlanta. And having two DJs on the board, the 12" logically starts out with some scratches on "Perspective". Here the opposition is kept in a head lock for them to see the world the way Wyz' wants them to see it. Therefore he points out a couple of aspects with the backing of punchlines and with a horn and bouncy rhythm. The a side then also offers "No Negotiation", and we're put in a live performance setting. Locksmith is doing some crowd motivation chanting, with a driving and funky beat.

After this quick offering we get a break in turning this platter over. "Amnesia" is built around a bassline and little sounds that are positioned there and here. Wyz' is continuing to rhyme these good time rhymes, as his braggadocio is not coming in threatening ways. The scratches are never far behind and so this track operates as another live performance sure shot. However, this is not all, as the Origami is as generous as hooking us up with a bonus beat called "Zigga Zigga". And while the other beats have been cool, this little space bass is even cooler. It however also points out that the beats are a little bit much to stomach for the people that like some grit. Because the Origami's funk does not contain the needed stank. It just has a little bit of a strange odor. What then however is corrected by Wyz' delivery and rhymes, that have us line up for the Origami show.
